2019 Awards Results
A great way to ensure that you are making an effort to properly thank these men and women for their efforts is to nominate an individual or agency for a Colorado Association of Animal Control Officers Award. Each year CAACO considers nominees for the awards in the following three categories:
ANIMAL CONTROL EXCELLENCE
To honor an individual in the field exhibiting overall excellence of service provided while performing his/her duties on behalf of animals and the public served. Special consideration is given for heroic efforts in the line of duty toward animal rescue or human/animal lifesaving events. Nominations accepted through recommendation by supervisors, fellow officers, or other members of the Animal Welfare Community for an officer who is or has been an active member of CAACO.
FRIENDS OF ANIMAL CONTROL
To recognize efforts put forth by an individual or organization toward assisting with an animal control situation where assistance is offered and accepted, then performed in a safe, levelheaded, heartfelt manner with a result benefiting goals and objectives of the profession. Nominations accepted from any ACO, Animal Control agency or individual.
COLORADO ANIMAL CONTROL AGENCY OF THE YEAR
To recognize an agency which has demonstrated efforts to better the profession through effective personnel training programs, outstanding public education or media programs, active and positive community involvement, excellence in officer response to request for assistance, and the overall image of the agency. Nominations accepted from agency directors, supervisors, officers, or outside agencies.
