Get a Kit, Make a Plan, Be Informed, Get Involved
September is National Preparedness Month. As part of this national event CAACO would like to encourage all members to help the communities they serve to become better prepared with homeland security and all-hazards preparedness.
In an effort to bring more attention to animal preparedness READYColorado has partnered with the Colorado Veterinary Medical Foundation to develop a new “Plan for Pets in Advance of Emergency” brochure. This brochure reminds citizens that, “Animals need emergency supplies” and “Encourages them to make a plan for evacuating and taking care of their pets in the event of a disaster.”
Please join CAACO, READYColorado, CVMF, Colorado Citizen Corps, and all other partners in increasing public awareness with homeland security and all-hazards preparedness within your community by becoming involved in the education process and through the distribution of the “Plan for Pets in Advance of Emergency” brochures. These brochures and other educational materials are free of charge and easily obtainable through READYColorado. If you would like more information please visit www.readycolorado.com or contact Joe Stafford, CAACO President, jstaffor@dcsheriff.net
READYColorado says it best, “If we communicate about the importance of disaster readiness, we can make a difference in the lives of family members, friends, and neighbors.”
